Whitehaven Beach
Queensland, Australia My wife and I had a fantastic 7 nights sailing throught the group of 74 islands off Airlie Beach, known as the Whitsundays. These islands present sheltered tropical waters, and all that go with that, including a beach rated in the top 3 in the WORLD by some - Whitehaven Beach. The photo above does not do the beach justice, as it was taken on an overcast winters day - it is 6 kilometres of silicone sand - the softest sand I have EVER walked on. You can sail to Whitehaven liken we did in a luxury 40 foot catamaran, you can take a day tput on a variety of other boat typers, or you can fly there, either by a float plane, or by helicopter. You can even go there by plane or chopper, and return by boat. Whatever way you go, it is highly recommended!
